From the movie, Evan Almighty:
God: “Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?”

The situations and people in our lives present opportunities for our healing and expansion in love. We can either go through life haphazardly, or we can engage our curiosity as to what is being presented before us. When we choose to pay attention, we become more fully engaged in life and begin to wield the magic wand of the conscious creator.

The choice is either to merely react as life situations arise, or take a breath and the time to discover the opportunity that is being presented.

Next time a situation arises ask yourself, what am I being called to express or what belief is being challenged? Choose to take the high road. It is really about taking the love path; the Yellow Brick Road to You.

The depth of the emotion and distress is a measure of the degree to which the opportunity can help you to grow and heal. It is specific to you, so it does not matter how anyone else would feel or react.

If something is really, really bothering you, pay special attention. Is this a pattern that repeats itself in different ways? You are being called in a big way. Take the opportunity and dive in. It may be uncomfortable or even painful, but a fuller, happier, truer you waits on the other side!
